250th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, June 27, 2026 – 3:00 PM  Citrus Springs Community Center
Sunday, June 28, 2026 – 3:00 PM.    Seven Rivers Church

In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, today’s concert honors the people, history, and enduring spirit of the United States through a diverse program of patriotic favorites, American stories, and cherished musical traditions. From the ceremonial Presentation and Retiring of the Colors to stirring tributes such as Let Freedom Ring, God Bless America, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and the Armed Services Medley, the program pays homage to the ideals of liberty and the generations who have defended them.

The concert also highlights uniquely American voices and experiences. Franco Cesarini’s Huckleberry Finn Suite brings Mark Twain’s beloved characters to life through music and narration, while Brant Karrick’s See Rock City paints a nostalgic portrait of mid-century America. Virtuosic cornet solos, timeless songs from America’s musical heritage, and the rousing marches of John Philip Sousa showcase the richness and vitality of our nation’s cultural legacy.

As we commemorate two and a half centuries since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we celebrate not only our history but also the shared values of freedom, courage, and unity that continue to inspire us. We invite you to join us in honoring America’s past, reflecting on its present, and looking forward to its future through the power of music.
